Are you brave enough for the kamikaze drop, a plunging rapid slide or a monster wave pool? Find out at Acua Water Park, near Corralejo, the only water park in Fuerteventura.

Not all the attractions are quite so crazy. There’s a very lazy river, a variety of slides and jacuzzis, an activity pool and children’s area as well as a sandy sunbathing area and cafe.

Visitors say there are always lots of lifeguards and staff on hand to help. You may have to pay extra to hire a ring to slide on or wait for one to become free.

Booking can be done online or through your hotel. Children under four get in free – so do children enjoying a birthday. They will need their passport to show their birth date.
