Santiago del Teide is a rural village surrounded by mountains, and has become one of tourists’ favourite sites in Tenerife.
The weather here is stable all year round which adds to the beauty of its landscape. It reveals a contrast between volcanic, vineyards, almond and fig trees. The Chinyero volcano was responsible for the island's volcanic eruption that took place in 1909.
Santiago del Teide is a beautiful base for exploring the countryside and is especially popular to those visitors who want to experience some great walking in Tenerife. There are several routes in the area, ideal for exploring the national park, villages and hamlets. Coast resorts such as Los Gigantes is a 30 minute drive.
