Corfu, which is the most northern of the Greek Islands, is milder and experiences slightly cooler summers than some of the other Greek islands.

July is the hottest month, with the most daily hours of sunshine. The cooler climate means Corfu has a lush, green landscape with approximately three million olive trees.

The month of May can be a great time to visit Corfu with good average temperatures and lower rainfall. You can also avoid the summer crowds and winds to perfectly enjoy the beautiful fresh flowers and greenery of Corfu.

The Archeological Museum of Corfu

The Archaeological Museum of Corfu contains a wealth of interesting finds from all over Corfu, including many from the Temple of Artemis in Corcyra (the ancient capital). From the Temple of Artemis is the attic (pediment) that has a well-preserved Archaic sculpture of Medusa and from the Tomb of Menecrates, there is a funerary statue of a crouching lion.

Vlacherna Monastery & Mouse Island

Two of the most photographed attractions on Corfu are Vlacherna Monastery & Mouse Island (Pontikonissi), which you can access from Kanoni which sits above Corfu Town, with steps that lead you to the small church of Panagia Vlacherna, built in the 17^th century with an impressive wooden-carved iconostasis and beautiful frescoes inside with a tall bell tower overlooking the church and just a 5mins boat ride further from the church is the legendary Mouse Island where fishing boats regularly cross from between the church and the island. This lush green island, so called named due to its small size, is held in Greek mythology as the ship of Ulysses that was stoned by Poseidon, God of the sea and waters. In the centre of the Mouse Island, there is the 13th-century church of Pantokrator.
