Description

Agia Pelagia is a small village on the north coast of Crete that exudes an authentic, traditionally Greek aura. It is a wonderfully peaceful area yet is only 22 kms from Heraklion, the vibrant capital of Crete. The region is full of natural beauty and due to its geographic position it played an important role throughout history. Where Agia Pelagia is now, there used to be an ancient Greek city and it has been inhabited since around 2000 BC. There are ancient remains that highlight the historic importance of the area; the most notable of which the Roman Aqueducts and engraved tombs.

Agia Pelagia is a wonderful resort, ideal for those wanting a blend of tranquillity, relaxation, beautiful beaches and historic expeditions.
