Kalymnos is renowned for sponges and is the islands main industry, sponge elaboration workshops can be found everywhere. Today, this quaint island is better known for its heady credentials as a world famous climbing destination. Things To Do

Therma beach - Therma is one of the closest beaches to Kalymnos Town. It is a pebbly beach with classic crystal waters and posses a platform to dive into the sea. The seabed can be a bit rocky in certain places, if this may bother you. It might be a good idea to bring water shoes.

Visit Telendos island - Off the west coast of Kalymnos, a small mountainous island lies in the middle of the Aegean Sea. A ten-minute boat ride separates the two islands with water taxis running regularly. The island hosts several cafes and local taverns with fresh fish caught daily. The island is a declared a NATURA 2000 protected area as it is home to many endangered bird species perfect for bird and nature lovers.

Full of history to see - The island is very rich in religious history. With Castles built by saints, well preserved churches from the 14th century, and if you would like to dive deep into the history, visit the Arcaheological Museum which displays prehistoric to post byzantine findings of the ancient Greek civilisation.  

Rock climbing – On the island pf Telendos there are many rock-climbing routes for our thrill seekers out there. There are many organised climbing exhibitions with the necessary safety equipment provided.
