There are endless things to do in Athens, but here are a few:
Visit the Acropolis - A must if you're visiting Athens. The UNESCO-listed artefact should be at the top of your list, and if you're going to do one thing in Athens, make sure it's this.
Mount Lycabettus - The tallest peak of Athens is found at the top of a limestone hill. From here, you will witness panoramic views of the city. The very same city that was home to one of the most advanced ancient civilisations in history is also home to democracy.
The Ancient Agora of Athens - located in the same place where local Greeks would buy and sell goods centuries ago. Located next to the Temple of Hephaestus, it gives you an understanding of how vast Ancient Greece was.
The National Gardens - Located in the city centre, this unbelievable 15-acre garden is a surreal escape from the hectic, busy streets.
Erechtheion - Also known as the Temple of Athena, it is on the north side of the Acropolis.
There are many more historical artefacts, museums, excellent restaurants and shops to see in Athens.
